Call for Submissions (Personal Stories and Photos)

In an effort to encourage people to help with the Roseland Park Playground Project cause, we are asking the general public to submit personal stories about their own experiences at Roseland Park Playground and to submit a photo or two, if one is available. The address for submissions to the blog is http://RoselandParkPlayground.blogspot.com/
Roseland Park holds memories of sports triumphs, joyous times, and playful youth activities for many people in the community. Please help us give the children of Jamestown another place to play.

  2. My name is Julie. I too, grew up in Jamestown playing at Roseland park and watching my brother's Babe Ruth baseball games that he played and then coached for many years. I even ice skated at Roseland park. When I read your article in the Post Journal today I became saddened. I live ...in North Carolina now, and have for years. However, I still have family there and visit often. Like so many other things in Jamestown, the things that made my childhood memories stand out, have either become neglected, closed, or become demolished, and are no more. Even though I no longer live there, I still have a fondness for my hometown and would like to see Roseland preserved for generations to come.

Good luck to you. I wish you much success.
    Sincerely,
    Julie

  3. NOTE FROM A CITIZEN OF JAMESTOWN:
I went to SS Peter & Paul School on Main St in Jamestown ( Now Holy Family) when I was a kid and we used to walk down to Roseland at least once a year to play. I also used to play baseball down there either as City Rec league or Babe Ruth. It was always a nice area that was off the beaten path. It would be a shame to see it close! Adam Cady
